Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have formally separated. The news of their separation had been doing the rounds on social media for months now. The two shared cryptic posts on the internet, suggesting that they have split. But, neither of them spoke openly on the subject and revealed the possible reasons behind this decision. However, it is now reported that the couple’s final hearing and all the necessary procedures took place at the Bandra Family Court on Thursday, where both were physically present.
According to a report in ABP News, the judge asked the couple to undergo counselling, which lasted for around 45 minutes. After the counselling session, the judge was told that the two will have to separate with mutual consent.
It was earlier revealed that Chahal and Dhanashree were living separately for the past 18 months. When asked about the possible reasons for their separation, the couple said that they had ‘compatibility issues’.
On Thursday, around 4:30 pm, the judge officially granted them the divorce.
Chahal had shared a post on social media just before the last hearing, which read: “I can’t even imagine the number of times God has saved me. So I can imagine how many times I’ve been saved that I have no idea about. Thank you, God, for always being there for me, especially when I don’t even know. Amen.”

Dhanashree also shared a message about confidence on her Instagram account. “From pressure to grace. Isn’t it amazing how God can turn our stress and trials into grace? If you’re feeling pressured about something these days, know that you have a choice. You can either stay stressed or hand everything over to God and pray for everything. There’s control in having faith that God can work everything together for your good.” Though no one has mentioned the word differently in the posts, the gist of the messages says it all.
