Mahakumbh Stampede: On the occasion of Mauni Amavasya in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, crores of devotees come to Sangam to take bath, after which a major accident came to light. Many devotees are reported to be injured in this incident. Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reaction has also come to the fore on this incident. He said that he is constantly in touch with the UP government.
PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X, “The accident in Prayagraj Mahakumbh is very sad. I have deep condolences to the devotees who lost their loved ones in this. At the same time, I wish all the injured a speedy recovery. The local administration is engaged in providing all possible help to the casualties. I have spoken to CM Yogi ji in this regard and I am constantly in touch with the state government.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath four times on the phone. He had instructed the CM to take the injured to the hospital soon and expedite the relief and rescue work. Apart from this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also called CM Yogi and assured all possible help from the Center.
What did CM Yogi say?
Earlier, CM Yogi had appealed to the devotees regarding the attack. He had said that the devotees should bathe near the ghat of Ganga Maiya. Do not try to go towards Sangam Nose. He appealed to everyone to follow the advice of fair investigation and not to pay attention to any kind of rumor.
How did the attack happen in Mahakumbh?
It is being told that on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, an attack took place among the devotees going for the Amrit bath of Mahakumbh at around one o’clock in the night. Many passengers were injured in this, who were immediately taken to the hospital. After this, the quick action team and police personnel controlled the situation. After this incident, the Akharas stopped their Amrit bath and started bathing regularly.
